With many years of experience as an educator, I love to open and hold experiential spaces where students’ creative practices and works are supported. Together, we observe, sense, and reflect on what emerges and wants to take shape. I see academic teaching as a collective inquiry and co-creative process, where we are all learners, critically engaging with the relational dynamics between the various elements that together form an artistic and design project—such as bodies, objects, spatial structures, rules, procedures, narratives, and more.
My approach emphasizes embodied, performative, and situated practices that explore how artistic methods can actively contribute to and engage with complex challenges against the backdrop of socio-political and planetary transformation. Recently, I have explored choreographic perspectives on everyday situations and experimented with transdisciplinary tools such as systemic constellation work, visual notation and scoring, and dynamic prototyping—encouraging reflection and creation that foster relational engagement with the multifaceted contexts and situations in which such projects unfold.
This approach is embedded in my broader research, which investigates alternative, embodied formats of knowledge production and exchange beyond disciplinary boundaries and traditional divides.
Since 2001, I have taught at renowned art schools internationally, including professorships at HDK Valand – Academy of Art & Design in Gothenburg (2016–2021), Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle (2015), and Kunsthochschule Kassel (2008/09).
